I heart "I Heart Rummage"

I first stumbled upon I Heart Rummage a few months after I decided to become a permanent transplant to this lovely city. To the crafter in me it was a dream come true. I couldn't believe there were actually indie crafting shows like I Heart Rummage that took place on a regular basis, not to mention were held in some of the coolest music venues in Alternative music history (IHR used to be a regular at Crocodile Cafe home of the infamous $3 ticketed show to see Nirvana before they were "Alt Rock gods Nirvana") - how cool is that? Seriously, I'm coming from a place where my cool little crafts had to complete next to macrame pot holders and the favorite booth would always be some disgusting stuffed teddy bear dipped in stinky perfumed wax. Yes, seriously! I swear, I couldn't make this one up if I tried.

So my goodness, you just had no idea how thrilled I was to find out about many of the cool indie craft and designer shows I now am able to attend. IHR hosts a BIG show once a year or so and that's my fav., but until another one of those shows rolls around and you are in the mood to shop for something you just can't find at the good ol' mall I suggest checking IHR out. Eh, for nothing else you'll feel like the ultimate Seattleite with you latte in hand and friend, partner, dog, or perhaps even a stranger in tow.

The first Sunday of every month brings I Heart Rummage to Chop Suey. Every month a rotating list of 40 indie designers sell their wares. Admission is free, there's always a DJ spinning, and the eclectic mix of urban crafters totally rocks.

April 6th is the next IHR at Chop Suey from 12-4. For more info. check out http://www.iheartindie.com/
